a franchise per patient

I'm not sure where to take this one, but I do know I think it's awesome that there are more McDonald's in the United States than cases of tuberculosis:

McDonald’s is rolling out the sandwich in all 14,000 of its restaurants in the United States, in what the company says is one of its biggest product introductions this year.

Compared with 13,779 in 2006.

houskeeping

Observations that make me want to have my own Twitter:

1. I am grateful to the courteous monkeys who stayed on the stoop rather than invading my room. Respect.

2. Xenophobia is the new car-jacking. Discuss.

3. Noted on a patient's data form: High risk occupation- lumbar farmer. I didn't know they let neurosurgeons in to my study.

be strong, bitches

I guess I haven't been in the states for a minute, because my first thought on the latest in the Florida and Michigan delegates is "gasp: people are still wearing the lance armstrong bracelets."

Is this true? Comments are open...

In an irony I hope to milk forever, the boy I'm not seeing left me with new music and a computer virus.

Breaking news: Many Women Plan to See the 'Sex and the City' Movie in Groups. Film at 11.

There are, naturally, many ridiculous quotes in this article. But only one is good enough to force me out of my blog-ernation (I just made that up. Can you tell?)
26 percent of those who responded planned to see the film “with the whole gang.”
Really? Not only are you taking the time to fill out a Fandango questionnaire, you are also dragging your cute posse with matching bomber jackets in to this? My guesses on ther other prompts: 'all by my lonesome,' 'with my honey' and 'I think your survey is stupid.'

Only 7.5 hours of my awesome 36 hours home remain. This is a low...

skeevy wedding announcement ahoy

This is actually less appropriate than any earlier grumblings:
The next day, Dr. Nevins had a five-hour drive home ahead of him. “It was a make or break day,” he said of his effort to woo her. He persuaded her to go fly-fishing, one of his favorite hobbies.

“He stood behind me putting his arms around me to show me how to cast,” she said.

And, after 44 years, he succeeded in letting her know that he was interested.
Old people are gross.

2 comments- a. Ghost Ship in a Storm is the first song I've dug since the long blondes in October. New music is hard to find. Flannery O'Connor also said a Good man is hard to find. It's possible I've had a good week.

b. Prelude to 110 or 220 women sounds like christmas music, all droney like. It would fit right in between Jingle Bell Rock and Holly Jolly Christmas in any generic department store. But the chorus "women of the world, take over. cause if you don't the world will come to an end" makes me dream of all these sleep-deprived shoppers in holiday sweaters and leggings suddenly zombie-ing it up and with glazed eyes picketing the lingerie department.
